State Senator Jon Ford (R-Terre Haute) has confirmed that he will be resigning from his seat in the Indiana Senate, effective October 16, 2023. Ford, who has served in the Senate since 2014, made the announcement to focus on "new professional endeavors."

Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) has submitted plans for a $644 million natural gas peaker facility at its R.M. Schahfer Generating Station in Wheatfield, Indiana. The project aims to enhance system reliability during peak customer usage and extreme weather conditions.
